The event took place between May 31st and June 3rd

The partner Centro para a Valorização de Resíduos (CVR) attended to the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Environmental Technologies 2016 (IFAT) in Munich (Germany). This is the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. The main purpose of this visit was to establish partnerships and disseminate EcoProlive among the companies that took part of the event.

In this meeting, the companies were informed of the project concept, objectives and expected results and were invited to participate in some of the tasks. Dissemination material, namely leaflets of the project, were provided to the companies’ representatives.

This trade fair is celebrated every two years since 1966 and now it is consolidated. Furthermore, also it is held in China, India, Eurasia and Africa, so has international representation. This fair has great success in all the places because it is a unique exhibition in which a wide range of services is exposed.

This event started 50 years ago with 147 exhibitors and 10,200 visitors and is continuing seamlessly today. In 2016, IFAT received 3,097 exhibitors from 59 countries and more than 138,000 visitors from over 170 nations. This means further rise in international exhibitors and visitors. “The feedback from all our participants was overwhelming. The further rise in participation figures is impressive proof of how for fifty years IFAT has been shaping the development of the environmental technology sector”, said Stefan Rummel, Managing Director of Messe München, about this year.

On the other hand, after Germany, the top ten countries of origin among the visitors were: Austria, Italy, Switzerland, China, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Denmark and Turkey.

Therefore, this large number of visitors make this trade fair in one of the most important in the world for this sector. The next date will be in May 2018, Munich.
